Level Up Your Halloween Festivities With These Five Yummy Snacks

Look no further for the perfect Halloween snacks! Here are five of our favorite scrumptious and spooky treats that your kids will LOVE.

Crankenstein will always be one of our favorites! We paired this book with a yummy pudding treat! I got the idea from Come Together Kids years ago, but I have altered it a bit to make it easier and more fun for my students. I buy vanilla pudding cups and draw a little Frankenstein face on it. As the students would open their pudding cups, I would give them a spoon and put one drop of green food coloring in it. The students would then carefully mix their pudding. While they were mixing, I would give them a sandwich bag with one Oreo cookie in it. Students get to smash their cookie in the bag and then put it in top of their Frankenstein for a cookies and cream type of pudding. This was ALWAYS a hit.

Spookley is also always a class favorite! Last year, we added these snacks from The Resourceful Mama at the end of our pumpkin unit and the kids devoured them. To be honest, I just gave them a graham cracker that they had to break in half. Then, I put a small bowl with orange icing at the table with a plastic knife for each student. They got to put the icing on their pumpkin and eat it! To save time, I didn’t do the eyes and stem and you know what? They were just happy to get a treat like that! This was easy and delicious.

Room on the Broom is a fun read aloud that all students will enjoy. It is actually my daughter’s favorite Halloween book, so it has a special place in my heart. This cute broomstick snack from Smart School House will be a perfect pairing for a snack during story time.

Gustavo The Shy Ghost is the such a cute story that your students will definitely love! These cheese stick snacks from SavvyKids are such an easy and cute treat for students to enjoy while you read.

Christopher Pumpkin is a perfect story rhyming story! Your students will absolutely love this funny book! These mandarin oranges from The Sweatman Family are such an easy and tasty snack for students to eat during or after listening to the book. When I make this, I draw the face on the actual cup, so when you take the wrapper off the top, the face is still on the cup.

Hopefully you and your students enjoy these book and snack pairings as much as we do! If you want to check out other spooky read aloud stories, you can check out my Amazon list here. Want to potentially get FREE books for your classroom, read here to see how.
