Low-Prep Valentine’s Day Party Ideas
Valentine’s Day is such a fun day in the classroom! Setting up stations is a great way to keep your Valentine’s Day party organized and ensure all students have a chance to participate in a variety of hands-on activities. Below are some simple, engaging station ideas for kindergarten and first-grade classrooms.
Valentine’s Day Bingo
Bingo is ALWAYS a huge hit! This create-your-own-luck Valentine’s Day bingo activity is a must-do at our Valentine’s Day party.

Students get a blank bingo card and a page with the Valentine’s Day pictures. They can glue the pictures any place they want on their bingo board. This set also comes with calling cards for teachers to say the images. Students can also cover their boards with candy conversation hearts for an extra fun take.
Valentine’s Day Crowns
One easy activity to have on hand is making Valentine’s Day crowns. These are great to make before the party or have at a station during the party. Click here to get access to these crowns for FREE.

These crowns are easy to decorate and assemble. Simply have students color the crowns and then cut them out. Use long construction paper strips and staple them to the sides of the crown.
Torn Paper Heart Craft
Torn paper crafts are not only extremely cute, but they are also great to practice fine motor skills. Give students construction paper and they can tear small pieces of paper. Use liquid glue to attach the torn paper to the heart. Simply print an image you want to use, such as a heart, chocolate box, etc. and have the students cut it out. They will then tear the paper to glue on.

I usually keep a small box of construction paper scraps in a cabinet for torn paper crafts. You can also attach this to a writing page where students write about things they love, their favorite chocolate/candy, etc. Torn paper crafts always make cute hallway writing decorations.
Minute to Win It Candy Heart Games
Minute to win it-style games are easy to set up and fun for the kids to complete. Here are a few ideas for minute to win it games using candy conversation hearts.
-
- Tower Stack- See how many candy hearts you can stack in one minute
-
- Fill the Cup- Have students get in line on one side of the table. Tape a cup to the other side. Students will use straws to blow the conversation hearts into the cup. They can race against another group/table to see who gets the most in the cup in one minute.
-
- Candy Transfer- Get two containers. Place candy hearts in one of the containers and give each student a plastic spoon. Students will race to scoop the candy hearts with the plastic spoon and transfer them to the other container. The group that transferred the most candy hearts wins.
Roll a Love Monster Craft
How to Complete Roll a Monster Activity:
1. Give each student, or group, a die and the “Roll a Love Monster” card.
2. Students will roll the die to get a body. They will get their body and then roll again to get eyes. Continue until all pieces have been chosen and collected.
3. Once students have their pieces, they will color the pieces.
4. Students will cut out the pieces and glue on their love monster’s body.
5. Give each student construction paper strips for arms and legs. They will fan-fold and glue on the body. (heart hands and feet are included)
* Check out this blog post here for more information and a closer look.

This can also be a fun writing craft for students to complete, as there are monsters with writing lines included.
To Prep:
Just print the pages you want to use and cut out the individual pieces. The students will color and cut out the rest!
Make Valentine’s Day Cards
This is also such a cute activity and the kids love it. All you have to do is cut some construction paper in half and fold to make cards (students can do that part too). Have parents donate some stickers, glitter glue, gems, etc. and allow students to make Valentine’s Day cards for friends, family members, teachers, etc.
