Set Up “You’ve Been Booed” Halloween Bags in Your Neighborhood

Ahh, Halloween time… It is honestly one of the best times of the year. I don’t know what’s better: the tricks the treats, but I do know that both can be found in “Boo Bags”! Here is how you can easily set up “You’ve Been Booed” bags for your neighborhood!

How do “You’ve Been Booed” Bags work?

First, print the instructions page, the “We’ve Been Booed” signs, and fill the bag with some treats for your neighbors. You can access the instruction page and signs here. Next, fill the bags. The bags can be filled with candy, slime, necklaces, cookies, or anything else you want! Finally, once the bags are filled, secretly drop off the bags in your neighborhood! *We typically start with two bags, but if you have a larger neighborhood, you can get another family to start two other bags also.

These are the things we usually put in our Halloween “You’ve Been Booed” bags

When we send out “You’ve Been Booed” bags, we usually keep is mostly candy-free because I know some parents may not want their kids to have a ton of candy. Most of what we put in the bag can be found at Dollar Tree or Target Dollar Spot.

Time To Fill Up Your Bags

Grab your bag. Fill the bag with treats. Make sure to place the instructions page and “We’ve Been Booed” signs in the bag. *You can choose to print extra copies of the “We’ve Been Booed” sign or you can put the original and have people make copies to place on their door.

If you can’t find the boo bags at Target or Dollar Tree, here are some other options that will work well.

Here are some items you can use to fill up your “You’ve Been Booed” bags.

This particular Halloween “You’ve Been Booed” bag was for a family with three kids.

In the bag we gave to one of our neighbors, this is what we put:

  • Instruction page
  • Bag of 25 “We’ve Been Booed” cards
  • Notebooks (found at a thrift store)
  • Reese’s pumpkins (Target)
  • Purple, Orange, and Lime Green slime (Target)
  • Halloween pretzels (Costco or Target)
  • Halloween Glasses (Target)
  • Cat ear Headbands (Target)
  • Spider rings (Dollar Tree)

*NOTE: Many of these items were bought in bulk and have been used over the past few years, like the headbands, notebooks, rings, and glasses.

Finally, put the “You’ve Been Booed” bag on your neighbor’s front porch or by the door. They will then fill the bag and pass it to another neighbor!
